What is the workshop about:

This workshop will show you how good design, from interfaces to experiences, can fundamentally improve your tools and components – from reducing your development times to improving how users can reach the insights they are looking for.

Starting with an introduction into the main principles of design, including User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design, we will cover how you can work with these concepts without needing to actually be a designer. We will then move on to exploring real-world examples in real-time through an interactive demonstration of these practices.

What you will learn:

  • How design can bring clarity to your work
  • What User Experience and User Interface design actually are
  • Designing without designing – lean applications for developers
  • Real-time demo of improving a BioJS component using design principles

Target Audience:

Developers looking to build better tools in a better way, for themselves and their users.

Prerequisites:

No prior knowledge of design principles is required.
