Manuel Corpas is a computational genomicist who named the paradigm of agentic genomics in Cell Genomics in 2026. He ran the first controlled test of where correctness must live inside an agentic pipeline, and built the open infrastructure it demands: ClawBio, ClawBench and GenomeQA. He has published 69 papers and works in English and Spanish.

Manuel Corpas is a computational genomicist working on whether a genome interpretation can be trusted, and for whom it holds. In 2011 he sequenced his own family and published their genomes openly, and concluded that interpretation, not sequencing, was the bottleneck. He spent the following decade measuring who was missing from the reference data, in pharmacogenomics, polygenic risk scores and biobanks, and helped build some of the missing data through the Peruvian Genome Project.
When AI agents arrived in genomics he argued that automation industrialises that gap rather than closing it, and named the resulting paradigm agentic genomics in Cell Genomics in July 2026. He then ran the first large-scale controlled evaluation of where correctness must reside inside such a pipeline, and built the open trust layer it requires. He is Co-founder and Chief Scientist of GENEQ Global and Visiting Researcher at the University of Westminster.
