Come and build genomics agents with us in Berlin

Next Tuesday, 18 August, ClawBio and Nebius are running a hackathon in Berlin, and I want to say plainly what you get out of turning up.

A day building agents that do real genomics. Not a demo, not slideware. You bring a laptop, we give you a pre-configured environment on Nebius, and you spend the afternoon making an agent do something a bioinformatician would actually trust.

The day

Impact Hub Berlin, The Loop, Rollbergstraße 28A in Neukölln. Doors at 11:30, and we run 12:00 to 18:00.

Teams of four or five. The build window is three hours and forty minutes, which is short on purpose. The environment arrives already wired up, so the afternoon goes on building rather than installing. Nobody deploys a model by hand.

Three tracks

Pick one.

Build a new ClawBio skill. One skill that does a single useful thing, with a test, and open a PR. ClawBio ships 98 skills already, so the pattern to copy is right there.

Chain skills into a workflow. Take a real omics question end to end and produce an answer a human can check, with the provenance visible at every step. The bar is not that it works on one input. The bar is that it says what it did and where each claim came from.

Put an open biology model behind a Nebius endpoint and let a ClawBio skill call it as a tool.

We will use public data only. The Corpas family-of-five genomes, GIAB, or any GEO accession your team fancies.

Prizes

Nebius are putting up credits for the best three builds:

• 1st: $1,500 Nebius AI Cloud + $500 Token Factory
• 2nd: $1,000 + $250
• 3rd: $500 + $100

What you need

A laptop, and enough Python to be dangerous. You do not need to have used AI coding agents before. Roughly a third of the room never has.
